Troy Police Department's Citizens Police Academy

The Troy Police Department is offering a chance for citizens to experience what it’s like to be a police officer through its Citizen Police Academy. The Academy is a free program for any citizen in Pike County.

CPA is a free 6-week program that meets once a week for two hours, on Thursdays from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the Troy Municipal Courtroom. The academy will provide hands-on training classes in a friendly atmosphere. The Academy will cover the different divisions that make up the police department to include Patrol, Investigative, Special Operations, Corrections and other resources and technology utilized by the department.

**The Citizens’ Police Academy is NOT an offer of employment. The objective of the Academy is not to train an individual to be a “Reserve Police Officer” but to produce informed citizens.
