8/20/2025 - Troy Recycles Day - November 15, 2025

Troy Recycles Day will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2025, in the Troy Lowe’s Parking Lot at 1421 US Hwy 231 S, Troy, Alabama, from 8am to 12pm.  Keep Troy Beautiful and the City of Troy, along with all of our partners in this event, hold Troy Recycles Day each year close to or within a month of America Recycles Day. This year it will be on America Recycles Day!! America Recycles Day® (ARD) is a Keep America Beautiful national initiative dedicated to promoting and celebrating recycling in the United States.

 

Troy Recycles Day is a free recycling drop off for anyone in our community for our regular recyclables, as well as, electronic recycling.  We will also have the shred-truck onsite again. Shred drop off is strictly limited to ten (10) bags or boxes per household/organization - no exceptions.

 

  • Document shredding will be onsite courtesy of First Cahawba Bank, Max Credit Union, and Troy Bank and Trust! Remember that shred drop off is limited to ten (10) regular sized bags or boxes per household/organization.
  • Below is a list of appropriate items for Electronics Recycling accepted at the event, courtesy of Interstate Batteries and ReTech Recycling Technology:
    • Small countertop appliances
    • Any type of wire
    • Metal light fixtures (no bulbs)
    • Office phones & cell phones
    • Computers, laptops, CPU’s, and computer boards and parts
    • Copper, aluminum, and brass
    • Gaming systems, printers, and scanners
    • Flat LCD/LED monitors and flat screen tv’s only (no cathode-ray tube (CRT), tube, or thick monitors or tv's will be accepted)
    • Lead acid, NiCad, nickel metal, lithium ion batteries only
  • City of Troy Recycling will also be present to take the regular recyclables accepted by the City of Troy year-round, including cardboard, paper, #1,2,4,5 plastics, and clean aluminum cans and steel food containers. For a list of the regular recyclables accepted by the City of Troy visit .
  • Please do not bring AAA-D batteries, CRT or tube TV/monitors, copy machines, large appliances, hazardous waste, tires, fluorescent tubes, light bulbs, trash, garbage, paint, and/or wet/leaking paint cans. These items will not be accepted.

Be sure to grab all of your unwanted electronics, old documents, and regular recycling items and come see us on Saturday, November 15, 2025 in the Troy Lowe’s Parking Lot from 8am to 12pm.
