Troy Municipal Court

The Troy Municipal Court was originally created in 1922 as the Troy Recorder’s Court.  The Troy Recorder’s Court became the Troy Municipal Court in 1966 and J.B.  Wiley was appointed Judge, where he remained until his retirement in 1996. N. J. Cervera served as the Presiding Municipal Judge from 1996 to September 31, 2016. Starting in October of 2016 he was appointed to serve as Supernumerary Municipal Judge in which he is still serving. Matthew M. Baker currently presides over the Troy Municipal Court as Municipal Judge. Judge Baker’s appointment started October 1, 2016.

Neal Armstrong is the Court Clerk and also serves as the Court Administrator. Dianne N. Chance, Mary T. Smith, Shay Hall, Senetrix Britt and David Hennigan are the Court’s Magistrates. Mr. Hennigan also serves as the Municipal Court Supervision Officer.

Thad Yancey, Jr. is the Prosecutor and Timothy Magee is the
Public Defender.

Office hours are from 8:00 A.M. until 4:30 P.M. Monday through Friday.  There is a Magistrate in the office during lunch.  Magistrates are on call each weekend.

Court is normally held on the first and third Wednesday of each month unless otherwise ordered.

Courtroom Rules are

  • No phones in the courtroom
  • No children under 10 years of age in the courtroom
  • No weapons (knives, guns, spray) in the courtroom
  • Appropriate dress is expected (no shorts, no muscle shirts/tank tops, no hats or headgear, & no sunglasses
  • Shirt and shoes are required in the courtroom

A public web site that allows citizens the ability to search/find historical and pending cases. Allows offenders to see future court dates and times, guides the user towards an opportunity to pay with a direct link, the status of the case, view their prior cases with the Troy Municipal Court and the ability to see if you have an active warrant against you.
